Software Architect - Embedded Software Applications (m/f)


The Embedded Software Application department is responsible for delivering of production-quality embedded software for plug-in modules and stand-alone devices incl. design, code, test and related documentation. This objective is achieved by an iterative and incremental development process combined with extensive software reuse.

You are responsible for the conception, architecture, design, implementation and quality of specific Software domains (new and existing modules used in our systems).


Your duties

  • Develop a new framework and application software for the KEYMILE access platform XMC20
  • Actively contribute to definition and design of the architecture of KEYMILE embedded software system and applications. This also comprises analysis of market inputs / requirements of carrier grade systems and design solutions accordingly
  • Define, model and implement SW applications spanning from kernel (C) to application space (C++)
  • Renovation of the architecture to improve productivity and stability of applications
  • Improvement of the automated software testing infrastructure
  • Be one of the main contact engineers for architecture related questions


Your profile

  • Engineering degree in informatics or electronics with focus on Computer Science (ETH/Uni/FH)
  • Creativity, capability of networked thinking as well as following systematic, analytical approaches are elements that define who you are
  • Proven experience in software architecture and system design of large software applications
  • Good skills in Software engineering, OOD and Software modelling
  • Know-How in Re-engineering and refactoring of very large SW (>3 MLOC) is a required asset
  • Demonstrated Linux system subsystems and open source understanding
  • Current knowledge in various object oriented programming languages is mandatory. Know-how of C/C++ 14 or newer is a huge plus
  • Experienced with SCM (git, svn, ...) and code review platforms (gerrit)
  • Are passionate about technology, interested in real-time, and care deeply about doing work that you are proud of
  • Communicate with clarity and precision in English. We care about this almost as much as your technical ability. German knowledge would be advantageous
