Linux Specialist - Embedded Software Applications (m/f)


The Embedded Software Application department is responsible for delivering of production-quality embedded software for plug-in modules and stand-alone devices incl. design, code, test and related documentation. This objective is achieved by an iterative and incremental development process combined with extensive software reuse – of both open source and proprietary nature.

You are responsible for the conception, architecture, design, implementation and quality of specific Software domains (new and existing modules used in our systems).


Your duties

  • Develop a new framework and application software for the KEYMILE access platform XMC20
  • Actively contribute to definition and design of the architecture of KEYMILE embedded software system and applications
  • Define, model and implement SW modules in kernel (C) and application space (C++)
  • You are a key contributor to the development of networking functionality of Keymile products
  • You cooperate in the definition of the product architecture to improve productivity and stability of applications
  • Be one of the main contact engineers for Linux related questions


Your profile

  • Engineering degree in informatics or electronics with focus on Computer Science (ETH/Uni/FH)
  • Creativity, capability of networked thinking as well as following systematic, analytical approaches are elements that define who you are
  • Proven experience in software and system design of software applications (5+ Years)
  • Good skills in Software engineering, OOD and Software modelling
  • Demonstrated Linux system, especially networking subsystems, and open source understanding
  • Current knowledge in various programming languages is mandatory (object oriented and scripting). Know-how of C++ 14 or newer is a big plus
  • Know-How in re-engineering and refactoring of large SW (>1 MLOC)
  • Experienced with SCM (git, svn, ...) and code review platforms (gerrit)
  • Are passionate about technology, interested in real-time, and care deeply about doing work that you are proud of
  • Communicate with clarity and precision in English. We care about this almost as much as your technical ability. German or French knowledge would be advantageous
