Overview

The XMC20 platform is a VLAN Chassis Switch (upgradeable to MPLS) with extensive Packet-based and TDM functions for Mission-Critical Networks. The design is built around VLAN bridging according to IEEE.

With XMC20, Ethernet/IP and TDM services, as well as transport technologies, can be provided from one single network element. It is therefore essential to gain the knowledge of its features, functions and capabilities, and learn the skills required to carry out commissioning and in-service maintenance in order to successfully implement into a live network.

Target Group

This course provides all the necessary information and practical training required by commissioning and maintenance teams in order that they can most effectively support the common functions of the XMC20 platform.

It covers aspects of installation, power, redundancy, shelf and backplane traffic capacities. Protocols and technologies are introduced briefly, being explained in connection to their relevance to the operation of the platform.

After completing the course participants will have the fundamental knowledge and confidence to install, commission, and maintain the XMC20 in a managed network.
