MileGate – The System Family

MileGate 2500/2510 for CO applications

MileGate 2500/2510 is designed to provide various voice and data and NGN services in central offices, collocation space as well as in street cabinets.

Maximum availability is guaranteed with fully-redundant core units and media gateways.

The subrack provides 21 slots, 20 of which can be fitted with line cards to grant any required service mix. Depending on the selection of line cards e.g. up to 1280 ADSL2plus interfaces can be implemented.

MileGate 2310 – Compact Subrack for multi-service in tight spaces

MileGate 2310 provides the same multi-service flexibility as MileGate 2500/2510 - all MileGate cards can be used. The compact subrack is designed for installation sites, where space is the limiting factor, e.g. in equipment rooms of buildings or in street cabinets.

Maximum availability is guaranteed with fully-redundant core units and media gateways.

The subrack provides 8 slots, 7 of which can be fitted with line cards to grant any required service mix.

MileGate 2200 – Mini-DSLAM subrack for cost-efficient access in sparsely populated areas

MileGate 2200 has been designed for use in street cabinets. At just two height units tall, it can also be installed where space is very limited. As a result, MileGate 2200 is the ideal solution for expanding broadband services in sparsely populated areas.

The subrack offers 4 slots, 3 of which can be fitted with line cards of the MileGate platform that have access to the GbE star. Depending on choice, up to 192 ADSL2plus, 144 VDSL2 or 72 GbE interfaces can be implemented.

MileGate Fibre Series – the access platform for active and passive optical networks

The MileGate Fibre Series is superb for FTTH/B applications and supports both active and passive optical Ethernet via one single platform simultaneously. Based on the MileGate 2510, the MileGate Fibre Series provides easy fibre management as well as fast and easy access for operation and maintenance. Lab-tested EMC makes operation reliable also when operated without cover. Via a redundant core unit MileGate Fibre Series offers top availability in hot-standby mode.

MileGate 2012 - G.fast/VDSL2 - vectoring node for connecting FTTB areas

MileGate 2012 micro-DSLAM is a G.fast/VDSL2 vectoring node that’s dedicated to FTTB (Fibre-to-the-Building) installations. With eight G.fast interfaces, FTTB with MileGate 2012 is more economical than FTTH rollouts. The G.fast 106 MHz profile delivers data rates of 1,000 Mbps via the building's existing copper-wire pairs.

The MileGate 2012 micro-DSLAM is fitted directly to the wall of a building, can be locked up and is cooled passively, so no noise is emitted. An alarm immediately reports any unauthorised attempt to gain access to the operator’s network management system.

Thanks to the VDSL2 vectoring mode, MileGate 2012 allows seamless migration to higher bandwidths. Whether they have vectoring or not, network operators can start with VDSL2 and switch to G.fast if demand grows. Furthermore, by using different frequency bands, ADSL or VDSL2 signals can coexist on the same cable.

MileGate 2011 - The Micro-DSLAM for FTTB Network Achitektures

MileGate 2011 is a Micro-DSLAM for FTTB connections.

It is designed for the operation in basements or in utility rooms in multi-tenant buildings. There the optical fibre is terminated in the MileGate 2011. It converts the signals received from the optical fibre into electrical signals. With the VDSL2 interfaces up to 8 subscribers can be connected to the optical fibre network over the existing telephone cabling.

With a bandwidth of over 100 Mbps per VDSL2 interface, MileGate 2011 can provide modern Triple Play services, like IPTV (TV via Internet) in HD quality, VoD (Video on Demand) and VoIP (Voice over Internet), without the need to bring the optical fibre up to every subscriber in the building.

Optionally MileGate 2011 can convert an analouge and digital CATV signal and feed it into the existing coaxial in-house cabling. So network operators can provide traditional CATV and modern IPTV services in parallel.
