You are planning a highly available distribution network for the interconnection of your TETRA/TETRAPOL broadcast stations to a central switch system. An Add-Drop multiplexer operates as a central switching element in the exchange where it collects the broadcast signals of the connected emergency services. It distributes these signals via copper, optical fibre or radio relay systems to the broadcast stations (n x 64 kbps channels or Ethernet/IP).
In the broadcast stations the respective channels are supplied to the corresponding base stations and network management and alarm data are received and transported to the centre.
As an addition the single broadcast stations provide a number of different interfaces to receIve the different data signals from the various stationary applications. With a combination of radio network and multiplexers you obtain a maximum covering with only one single compact access system.
A very high availability is achieved due to various protection mechanisms at the network and network element layers.
The UMUX family is a Next-Generation Multi-Service Access system that can provide a range of applications for public and private network operators. Besides the Ethernet/IP interfaces all legacy interfaces are supported. Manifold network interfaces are integrated as well.
