We are seeking for our location in Berne:
Senior Embedded Software Engineer (m/w)
You will join an international team who is developing embedded software applications for distributed, cost optimized, multi-core and highly available multiservice access nodes.
Within our program for constant improvement, your task will be to enhance our current way of creating software, in order to support us in adjusting to our fast-paced environment with an increasing number of internal and external stakeholders involved.
Your duties
- Identify and propose areas of improvement throughout the software development process
- Lead the decision making and implementation of solutions that further improve efficient code creation for multi-processed embedded systems
- Provide motivation, technical assistance and guidance to co-workers
- Responsibility for development tools, version control system of software and execution of software releases suitable for collaboration with third parties
Your profile
- 10 years of experience in developing and designing embedded software systems as well as demonstrated experience in team leadership within software development
- Deep understanding of and extensive experience with applying advanced object-oriented design and development principles for embedded applications under RTOSs such as Linux or VxWorks
- Experience with agile development methods and other industry best practices in applying unit tests and refactoring methods
- Track record of autonomously managing deadline driven projects while effectively managing stakeholders / team expectations
- Experience in L2/L3 would be an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English and German (optional)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with international inter-disciplinary teams and management
- Motivated self-starter, with high capacity for rapid learning and thorough attention to details
